Telling a male or female chinchilla apart whilst they are kits (baby Chinchillas) can be difficult, luckily I have not guessed wrong yet. I have how ever had to take a double look just to make sure I was sure whether the chinchilla was male or female, occasionally some people do make the mistake even when they are adults and then wonder why they have baby chins on their hands this happens more often then none.

Below are two photos to show what the female and male genitals look like this I hope will help you decide weather your chinchilla/s are male or female.
